Chalet du Mont d’Arbois
Info: Often cited in French fashion magazines as one of the most elegant places in Megeve, this restaurant is known for its spit-roasted meats. The flavors and spices of the cuisine suit the bracing climate. Scattered throughout are mementos of the owners, the Rothschild, and of their association with some of the greatest vineyards in the world.

L’Alpette
Info: This is the oldest mountain restaurant in the French Alps, opening onto panoramic views of Megeve. It’s also one of the best choices for Savoyard staples such as alpine ham, steak, and grilled meats. The fine cuisine has a loyal following of both residents and skiers who flock here on a yearly basis.

Le Prieure
Info: The name "priory" dates back as far as 746 AD, when this place was used as a dining hall for monks. Over the centuries, the building was rebuilt and restored with stones from the local hillside. Today it is one of the best dining choices outside of the hotels.

Le Vieux Megeve
Info: This cozy chalet, which has functioned since the early ’70s as one of the most visible restaurants in the town center, was originally built in 1880 as a farmhouse. Inside, a richly beamed and paneled dining room for up to 80 diners focuses on a massive stone fireplace with lots of alpine accessories.

Les Enfants Terribles
Info: Since the 1950s, this acclaimed restaurant has been a fun and irreverent place to dine. The decor emulates that of an upscale brasserie, thanks to bordeaux-colored banquettes, well-maintained wooden paneling and a skylight-style ceiling that floods the interior with natural light.
